Terry speaks at the United Nations

Terry was a guest speaker at UNITAR’s Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy last month at the United Nations European headquarters in Geneva. He presented a Million Village Vision to dignitaries from 26 different countries. Lawmakers and political leaders applauded the idea of catalyzing transformational movements among the rural poor that sweep the countryside rather than doing projects that impact a single village. Pray now as we follow up invitations to initiate work in multiple countries.

8,000 come to Christ in Haiti

Lowell and Robin Adams launched Community Health Evangelism (CHE) work in Haiti in 2010. Today they have work in 42 villages. More than 1500 people have come to Christ and are receiving ongoing discipleship training.

Kevin Jone’s began CHE work in Haiti with DecAid in 2012. His goal was to establish CHE work in 10 villages within a decade – thus the name of his organization. Today he has work in 45 villages. Since October of 2012, 6500 people have made confessions of faith. On the physical side of things communities focused on building latrines and solar disinfection of drinking water (SODIS). More than 2,000 families are using SODIS to sanitize their drinking water, and in some villages every home has a latrine. Overall health in these villages has improved.

More than 500 attend IWMC 2017

CHE workers and network representatives from all over the world gathered with others who share a passion for word and deed ministries that bring people to faith in Christ and reflect the values of the Kingdom in the communities we serve. We connected, shared, prayed and collaborated, gathered resources, formed new partnerships, renewed our passion, and returned to our work strengthened for the tasks God has called us to do. The International Wholistic Missions Conference was held this year at Grand Canyon University, May 1-5, and featured more than 100 workshops in 21 tracks and seven keynote speakers. Stay tuned for next years venue and dates.

Thank you for standing with us!

Your giving and prayer are the fuel of our ministry. Your friendship and partnership provide the encouragement and strength we need to persevere. Thank you for standing with us in this global effort to bring Christ’s love and salvation to the least and the lost.

June 2017 Prayer Letter

Tens of thousands coming to Christ

Tens of thousands are coming to Christ, new churches are being planted, and communities are being lifted out of cycles of poverty and disease. CHE network members are at work in 127 countries and 3,057 communities. Globally, 3,037 trainers and 17,680 community evangelists and leaders are working  directly with 108,497 households. For more information, go here.

A million village challenge

CHE Network members are working together on eleven different initiatives. Time won’t permit me to tell you about them all, but the one I am most excited about is what we call the Million Village Challenge.

Global mission movements are converging on a single task – establishing a Gospel witness among the last of the unreached and unengaged peoples (UUPGs) on earth. (UUPGs are ethno-linguistic people groups with no believers among them and nobody reaching out to them).

There are just 1,371 UUPGs remaining. The vast majority of these peoples are in marginalized rural areas (villages) in Asia, Middle East and North Africa.

The CHE Network has accepted the challenge, in partnership with Transform World, of mobilizing and equipping national workers in these difficult and distant areas. We are working together with international partners to mobilize and equip national believers in establishing transformational Gospel movements among the village poor in these unreached areas.

We intend to reach them all. We will not stop until the last little girl in the darkest corner of the smallest hut has opportunity is reached with the truth and compassion of Christ. My prayer is that through our Million Village Challenge initiative, the church globally will be mobilized to establish transformational Gospel movements among the last of the unengaged peoples.

Join us at IWMC 2017

I want to invite you personally to join us at our network conference at Grand Canyon University, May 3-5, 2017. This is a tremendous venue to explore opportunities for sharing the Gospel in the context of love and good works, bringing people to faith in Christ and reflecting the values of the Kingdom in the communities we serve. Click here for more information about IWMC.

CHE workers and network representatives from all over the world will join us, so it would be a great opportunity for you to meet partners you support by your contributions to our ministry.

This year we feature more than 100 workshops in 20 tracks and seven keynote speakers. Check out the menu of workshops and pick the ones you want to attend.

We thank God for you!

Without you, none of this would be possible. Your giving and prayer are the fuel of our ministry. Your friendship and partnership provide the encouragement and strength we need to persevere. Thank you for standing with us in this global effort to bring Christ’s love and salvation to the least and the lost.

April 2017 Prayer Letter

Jesus our Emmanuel. God is with us!

A Christmas prayer

Oh, Emmanuel – You who are WITH us, fill us with a sense of your presence this day. This week. This month. This year. Our heads know that you are with us, but sometimes our hearts refuse to agree. Give us grace to live like we KNOW that you are with us. Let us live in the trustful rest of the incarnation.

For the truth is, when you are with us:
we are never alone.
we do nothing on our own.
we lack for nothing.
we have no reason for fear.
we are safe.
we are held.
we are deeply loved.

When we have learned to live in this truth, give us grace to reflect your love to our family, our neighbors, our friends, and to strangers. May our actions reflect your goodness, and may they see you in us.

As we await the celebration of your first coming and and eagerly await your second, help us to reflect your love and truth to those who do not yet know you

A Christmas promise

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

Our Christmas wish for you

May you live in the joy of His presence and find hope in the promise of His return!

December1 2016 Prayer Letter

All I want for Christmas…

May the light of the Gospel shine on that little girl in the smallest hut, in the poorest village, in the remotest place on earth.

340 villages adopted in Egypt

I just returned from Egypt where Christian leaders gathered from around the country at a Million Village Challenge consultation to strategize for ministry in Egyptian villages all up and down the Nile. On the third day of the conference, the group divided into regions and identified target areas. Altogether they adopted 34 Village Clusters or 340 villages. The conference hosts formed a national servant team to follow up and facilitate the movement. After the conference, I partnered with an experienced national to provide three days of initial training for those who made commitments. Pray now as the work begins in remote places in Egypt.

Will it work here?

In my last letter, I asked you to pray as I sought to mobilize for the Million Village Challenge at the Transform World Global Leadership in Thailand. At the end of a day of vision casting, I was asked to be part of a panel for question and answer. The first inquiry came from the moderator:

Here is the question on everybody’s mind: Will it work here in Southeast Asia?

I started to answer, but was interrupted. A man stood up in the audience, waved his hand and said in broken English:

I am from Vietnam. I took training 20 years ago, and we have ministry in 67 villages.

He sat down and I didn’t have to say any more. Later that evening the man texted me:

Hello my Teacher
You are my teacher around 20 years ago.
Thanks

We are preparing now to begin Million Village Challenge consultations in Southeast Asia in 2017 – a part of the world where I initiated work 20 years ago. Pray with us that God will open new opportunities in every country of the region and that the yet unreached and unengaged will see the light of Christ.

Join the movement

This would be a great time to make a year end gift to our ministry. Your giving will enable us to continue to mobilize and equip the evangelical church globally to take the good news of the kingdom to unreached villages in some of the hardest places on earth.

Forty Roma Gypsies come to Christ in Hungary

Thank you for praying as CHE trainers did evangelistic campaigns in three Gypsy villages in Hungary. Forty Hungarian Roma made public commitments of faith in Jesus. Pray now as CHE workers in these villages follow up these individuals, baptizing and teaching them to obey everything the Lord has commanded, and helping them to serve as ambassadors for Christ and agents of transformation in their families and communities.

CHE work expanding in Central Europe and the Balkans. Representatives from 28 countries attend consultation.

Leaders from the CHE Network in Central Europe and the Balkans met in consultation in Hungary, September 21-24. Leaders of CHE teams from Bulgaria, Albania, Bosnia, Serbia and Hungary as well as participants from 28 countries (80% of them Roma) committed themselves to greater unity and collaboration to reach and disciple this poor and marginalized people group. Please pray for multitudes of Roma to be connected to Christ through this movement.

Terry headed to Thailand for a Million Village Challenge consultation with Christian leaders from around the world.

The Million Village Challenge Secretariat reports that village ministries have been initiated in half of the targeted countries inside the 10/40 Window. Pray as leaders gather in Thailand for open doors in the other 35. Pray that Terry will be able to present the principles of village transformation in a compelling way to the Christian leaders that gather, and that strategic new initiatives will emerge from the dialogue.

Humbly seeking your earnest prayer

I had no idea how deep the impact he was having on the lives of people. -Dr. Hugo Gomez
Dr. Hugo Gomez spoke these words about his colleague, Jose Pio Carreta, a fellow Community Health Evangelism Trainer in Guatemala that went to be with the Lord last week. More than 3,000 people from villages all around came to his funeral, a tribute to his life and work. City Hall in San Juan donated his coffin, and it took more than 400 pick up trucks to transport the crowd. Join us in praising God for his life, and praying for his family and colleagues who mourn his loss. See more in this photo album on Facebook.

CHE trainers doing evangelistic campaigns in three gypsy villages in Hungary

Pray for Laci, Eszter, Jozsef, Kata, Hessel, and Kalman as they carry out this campaign and follow up afterwards. Pray that many Roma Gypsies will become followers of Christ. Click here for more information about this ministry.

Eric Dalrymple, Blake Williams, and Josiah Vasquez ask prayer for South Sudanese partners

Eric, Blake, and Josiah just finished CHE training for South Sudanese partners. They ask for prayer as these men return to refugee camps in Uganda and to villages in war torn South Sudan to resume their ministries.

Terry dedicates Lifetime Achievement Award to Jeannie

In June, Medical Ambassadors International honored me (Terry) with a “Lifetime Achievement Award”. You can read about it in the summer edition of Healing Lives magazine. It is certainly too soon to say that I have finished my course, but I am grateful for the honor bestowed by friends and colleagues. It would be dishonest to accept an award like this without recognizing the one who has been, and will be, my co-worker for life. I dedicate this award to you, Jeannie Dalrymple. You have been there with me in the midst of every storm, provided encouragement to face every trial, celebrated every victory, and worked with patience and perseverance to make it possible for me to travel and train. We have exalted His name together. You are the one who deserves this award, and I am forever grateful that God brought us together to serve him as one. I also want to take this opportunity to thank each of you who have partnered with Jeannie and me in ministry – praying, giving, empowering, and encouraging us. And I want to express my sincere appreciation to all of my colleagues at Medical Ambassadors who continue to serve with vision, passion, self-sacrifice, and competence.

What if the Lord wanted to use you to help reach the last of the unengaged peoples on earth?

God is giving us the opportunity to help mobilize the church globally to take the good news of the kingdom to some of the poorest on earth who are still outside the reach of the Gospel. Through our Million Village Challenge initiative, we have begun the process of mobilizing the church into a million villages inside the 10/40 window. In the process, we believe we have the opportunity to finish the task among the un-engaged – taking the Gospel to the last of the people groups living in marginalized areas without a Gospel witness among them. For more information about this initiative, click here.

God continues to move – CHE in Rwanda!

Jeannie and I want to express our sincere appreciation for your partnership in our ministry to the village poor. Your gifts and prayers are a real encouragement to us and helpful in reaching our goals. I am most excited about our Million Village Challenge initiative that we pray God will use to mobilize the church globally into the last of the people groups in remote places with no Gospel witness. We have put up a new website just for you, hoping that it will make it easier for you to track what God is doing through our partnership.  Check it out at www.dalrympleministry.com.

Rick Warren tells how Saddleback Church used the CHE strategy in Rwanda with amazing results

Rick Warren challenged participants in the closing address at the Global Summit on Malaria hosted by President Bush. His audience included President Bush, Bill and Melinda Gates, Rupert Murdoch, and a host of others like them. In his speech, he made this bold claim: “I am going to prove to you that we can do it (deliver needed healthcare) faster through local churches than anybody can do in any other organization”. In the video below, he tells the story of what happened in Rwanda through his PEACE plan using the CHE strategy, training, and materials. After the program was evaluated, six African presidents called him and asked him to repeat what he was doing in their countries.

Note: Though he does not mention CHE in the clip, we started working with Saddleback in 2005, trained their leaders, and gave them permission to use and re-brand our training materials for their PEACE plan. The work on the ground was led by a colleague of mine from Medical Ambassadors that was recruited by Saddleback for that purpose.

Thank you again. If you have not yet taken the opportunity, I encourage you to join with us in the effort to mobilize the global church to take the good news of the kingdom to a million unreached villages.

Will you have their backs? Front line workers need you.

The last six months have been eye opening and life changing for me (Terry) as I have interacted with followers of Christ who are on the front lines of the battle that currently plagues our world. I am writing today with first hand accounts of what our brothers and sisters are suffering in the name of Christ, and to invite you to join with them in the fight. For the safety and security of these brothers and sisters in Jordan and France, specifically, I am not able to post their stories here, however. If you would like to learn more about these front line workers, please email me for an update.

Off to the Middle East

Please pray for wisdom and a moving of God’s Spirit. On Monday, May 30, Terry is heading to the Middle East to meet with ministry leaders from 10 Arab nations about the Million Village Challenge. My assignment is to take four hours to “set the table” and lay out the key principles of transformational development. Click here for more information about the Million Village Challenge.

Reaching European cities for Christ

Terry was privileged to gather with leaders from eleven European nations as they prayed and planned to impact their cities using urban development strategies.  The conference was hosted by RESCOF, the French CHE Network, in Paris. Committees were formed to follow through with plans for integrated urban development in specific regions all throughout Europe.

Growing global impact

We have been seeking to map the CHE movement on our network website. Nearly 600 members have registered, and the map shows ministries in 1,999 communities in 119 nations. Click here for a clearer picture of what God is doing.

Pray with us!
